Salt Crab: Created by Dave Whitlock this is a spun deerhair crab imitation that is quite realistic. This fly is not weighted with a barbell weight tied foreword so it does not dive in typical crab fly fashion. It does however swim through the water quite well and because of it's life-like appearance makes a great pattern for floating permit. Simply swim the fly in a series of short stripes without stopping. When a Permit starts to track the fly speed up the retrieve slightly as if the creature were fleeing the Permit.
