Thin Skin Caddis Pupa: This is the pupa stage of the Genus R. Rhyacophila (Green Sedge) which contains over one hundred individual species that mostly inhabit fast water making this pattern is especially effective in fast water. Just prior to emergence a Caddis Pupa will free itself from the bottom and drift in the current for ten to twenty feet as it fills its sheath with gas for the assent to the surface. Trout are conditioned to feed on the dead drifting pupae A very natural looking imitation, this pattern is effective just about everywhere that trout live.
