Green Highlander: An old British pattern originally known as the Highlander this fly was referenced in Francis 1867 publication A Book on Angling. It is the fluid combination of yellow and green that make this pattern work so well. Over the years it has spawned other successful patterns of yellow and green including; Green Rats, Green Headed Muddlers, The Pompier, Cosseboom and the Colburn Special. Whatever the pattern it is that combination of green and yellow that works so well on migratory fish.
