Blue Quill Dry Fly
A Classic Pattern that imitates Paraleptophlebia adoptivas but is often used as a generic Mayfly imitation
|
Blue Quill Dry Fly: Considered to be somewhat of a Mayfly pattern the Blue Quill is actually the mayfly species known as: Paraleptophlebia adoptiva an early and important hatch in the East and Midwest. This particular pattern has a stripped neck hackle stem for the body. Like the many other quill patterns ( black, red, gray, ginger, honey and Gordon) the Blue Quill has passed the test of time and is a worthy fly box addition.
