Birds Nest: Cal Bird of Reno, NV created this general purpose nymph imitation. It does not as such imitate a specific species of aquatic insect but more so has the general look of many nymphs. It comes in many color variations that further give it a "near-nuff" match to certain groups of nymphs. Due to it's fishability, this pattern belongs in every fly box. Birds Nest (Hares Ear Color Scheme) Pattern Recipe: Hook- TMC3761, Thread- Brown 6/0, Hackle- Mallard or teal duck flank feather fibers tied completely around the length of the abdomen, Thorax- Dubbed hares ear fibers, Abdomen- Dubbed hares ear fibers, Ribbing- Fine copper wire, Tail- Mallard or teal flank feather fibers.
