Bandit Leech: Leeches ( Annelida, Hirudinea) are flattened segmented worms that range in size from 5mm to over 400 mm in length. They are often mottled and brightly colored although some common species are simply black. There are more than sixty three individual species in North America many of which are important trout prey. This pattern has a rabbit strip tale giving it a very natural appearance. Remember leeches swim in a wiggle motion so subtle short strips can be very effective.
