Gujo Kebari - Dry Fly/Tan with Red Hook

The first style of Sakasa Gujo Kebari pattern dates far back in the life cycle of Tenkara flies and represent the very roots of traditional Japanese fly patterns. It has been documented that early flies of the Sakasa Gujo Kebari style were often made from parts of the Cinnamon Fern Osmunda, a plant often found along the shaded banks of many Japanese trout streams. This is a classic pattern fully keeping whole the Tenkara tradition of simplicity by being tied of only silk thread, dubbing and hackle tied on high quality Gamakatsu C12-B hooks in sizes 12-14-16. The C-12-B has a red finish that adds considerably to the way this pattern looks and more importantly, to the way it fishes. Red hooks attract fish, it is as simple as that.
