March Brown Spinner: This pattern imitates the following Mayflies; Stenonema vicarium; Heptagenia pulla and Ephemera simulans. This is an important Genus in the East and Midwest that produces hatches from mid-May until mid-June with stragglers present until mid-July. Spinners usually gather above riffle stretches of water at dusk (earlier during cooler weather) and begin their rise and fall type of flight pattern.
