The Japanese cities of Yamagata and Sendai are located about 2 hours 30 minutes north of Tokyo by bullet train and together represent the southern part of the Tohoku region. It is in this region that a particular style of Tenkara pattern was thought to be born which we represent here in our Yamagata/Sendai Kebari. This style is very different than most Tenkara patterns with the use of both antennae and split tails. Very mayfly in appearance, this pattern works especially well when fished dry during the daytime in pocket water or in the early evening hours in quiet sections of small freestone streams. We offer this pattern in three basic color schemes tied on high quality Gamakatsu C-12 hooks in sizes 12-14-16. The C-12 has a standard scud design with bronze finish; it allows this pattern to be fished a number of different ways in the surface film depending on how much floatant you use and where. We are currently updating our inventory and not accepting new orders. Please check back at a later date. |
