Griffith's Gnat is considered by many to be on the list of the top ten flies of all time. This marvelous pattern was created by George Griffiths (one of the founding fathers of Trout Unlimited) to be a general purpose emergent midge imitation that can also imitate a midge cluster. The G-Gnat is a simple yet so effective pattern that uses only peacock herl and grizzly hackle both of which are palmered over the entire body. This pattern has a knack for catching fish wherever it is fished worldwide. The Griffith's Gnat is truly a must-have pattern for every fly box.
