PMD or Pale Morning Dun is from the famous Genus Ephemerella that has fifty-one recognized species in North America many of which (Sulpher, Hendrickson, BWO and Pale Evening Dun) are considered in the Superhatch category. A.K’s exquisite tie here is a terrific imitation of the Western Ephemerella species; E. infrequens, E. inermis and E. mollita all of which are small and delectate with a pale yellow appearance. Nymphs of this Genus have three tails that contain minute hairs (setae) and are very diverse in their habitat from slow to fast water stretches of stream.
