Beadle Sardine: This is an epoxy head sardine imitation by the noted tier Ray Beadle. Sardines are actually the young fry of Atlantic Herring (Cluppea harengus harengus) a prolific flat sided baitfish that is available as prey for striped bass from early spring to late fall. This pattern is especially effective through out the entire Chesapeake Bay region. Try a steady retrieve (two-handed if possible) using either short, medium or long stripes until you find the pattern that works.
