Marabou Spey: This is a method of tying flies rather than a single pattern. These types of Marabou flies were created by Skagit River Steelhead guide Joe Butorac flies back in the 1970's. He referred to them as Marabou Spiders based on their ling spider like look of the soft marabou tips. These flies are simply certain color combinations of marabou feather wings draped over a simple body. These flies were meant for the Salmon and Steelhead of Alaska however they can be used wherever pelagic species run.
