Boss Steelhead Fly
A long time West Coast Steelhead Pattern that still rules!
|
This is the first design that started the famous Comet Style of Steelhead Fly Patterns on the West Coast. Although the true designer is unknown, we do know that it was first created on the Russian River in 1949. Originally known as “Popeye Flies” due to the large bead chain eyes this style of Steelhead Pattern makes all the sense in the world. With a compact body, sparse dressing and bead chain eyes for weight these patterns ride low in the water column and are just perfect for deep water holding scenarios. Writers note: I fished this pattern just last week for Fall Kings with success. We are currently updating our inventory and not accepting new orders. Please check back at a later date. |
