Mantis Shrimp: This particular Mantis Shrimp (Family Squillidae) was developed by the accomplished author and fly tier AJ Best. This is a generic Mantis pattern imitating many different species depending on size and color of the natural. Where present, mantis shrimp make up an important part of the bonefish's diet. Because Mantis shrimp have wide flat tales and can move quickly in short bursts it is sometimes advisable to fish this pattern with short fast stripes followed by a pause.
